Welcome to Skylights Care. We understand that home is where you feel the most comfortable and at your happiest. We aim to provide outstanding home care to our clients. Our services are available for adults from the age of 18.
Unfortunately as we age, those simple things we have always been able to do to remain living at home may become more of a challenge but that doesn’t mean giving up on home. We know that the majority of older people want to stay in the place they love and we can help you to understand how we can make that happen.
We don’t only serve the elderly, but also anyone who calls on for our support in their home. We deliver care and support that meets our simple test; is it good enough for mum?
Because we know that every client is someone’s mum or dad, aunt or uncle, husband or wife and they deserve to be supported by us as if they were our own mother, father or loved one.
We treat all our clients with dignity and our support respects their world view including religious beliefs, sexual orientation and others.
The best home to be in is your own; we can help ensure that is where you can stay!
Assisting clients with their laundry, setting up bills, budgeting and most day to day essential tasks.
We support clients with dementia, learning difficulties, autism and other mental health conditions with domestic and daily living tasks.
Giving our clients someone to talk to and share those special moment. Ensuring they have the company to access community services and places of interest.
We can assist you with shopping, collecting prescriptions and running errands.
Our visiting care offer starts from 30 minutes per care call and can go up to several hourly visits throughout the day, depending on your needs. We can even offer overnight care in addition to visits throughout the day.
We have a thorough selection and assessment process whereby new recruits receive both theoretical and practical training to equip them in their role as a carer, as well as time shadowing an existing carer on their care calls. In addition to their initial assessments, we also hold regular refresher sessions and advanced training for those who have an interest in a specific area of care and would like to develop their knowledge and skills further.
Continuity is very important to us and to our service users and our carers are allocated to individual to ensure continuity is maintained, however, they will be times where the main carer is not available, therefore, need another carer to step in.
You can arrange it via Local authority/ social services or privately.
You will be directly employed by Skylights Care, not the family. We’re not an introductory agent, we directly recruit, assess and manage all of our carers. This allows us to maintain our very high standards, to keep our carers’ training up-to-date, and gives us greater control over the care arrangement. You will have the support of a local manager and your regional office team.
Yes, you will have many training opportunities with Skylights Care. We believe in the continuous professional development of our people, so as well as the assessment and selection days, there are numerous on-going training opportunities available.
Yes. Our carers are never left unsupported. Whatever time of day or night, there is always someone available to provide help, advice and guidance.
If you need assistance within office hours, you can call our office. If you urgently need to speak to someone outside of office hours then you have access to 24/7 support via our dedicated on-call number. We’ll provide you with this phone number once you join our team.
You’ll be paid on a weekly basis.
It helps if you can drive as it means you can get out and about with your clients if their condition allows it.
To drive, you’ll need a full UK driving license. You can also drive if you have a full driving license from overseas, but you must be confident driving in the UK.
